  1. I don't know if it's better, it's just based on different mission requirements. The FSX project (later known as F-2) was designed as a dual-purpose jet. The most important requirement for Japan was that the FSX can carry heavy Anti-Ship Missiles against an enemy naval invasion. The original idea was for F-15s to gain air superiority, while the F-2s to fly low under the radar and launch anti-ship missiles against enemy naval assets. It's why the top camouflage is mimicking the sea/ocean.
