  1. I imagine it becomes more difficult to increase the ion drive voltage between the plates as the ions move from A to B.

  2. My complaint about wind turbines is the 20% performance factor. That 100% capital cost is sat there 100% of the time but only doing useful stuff for 1/5 of the time. All those finite elements (especially copper) are sat there doing nothing for most of the time.
