  1. EU might “help” if Finland is attacked by Russia, but Ukraine shows how slowly they would respond. If Finland triggers a fight with Russia, the EU will cast them adrift. Poland would get the same treatment.

  2. German Greens in the 1980s became extremely anti nuclear power. They constantly conflated weapons with civilian power generation. Soon enough Germany and Austria closed all of the nook power plants in favour of Russian gas. The British have been little better. Their regulators if not the actual regulations impose enormous regulatory costs in building any new nuclear power plant. British politics in 1970s was awash with kGB money. At least one prime minister was being very carefully watched by MI5. Another was just a big too well off yet did next to nothing to earn his wedge of cash.
