  1. British Navy at Jutland developed a talent for allowing its ships to explode. If the only way to operate effectively means wedging blast doors open then it’s down to management for not putting in place systems that actually work.

  2. HMS Hood dot com says that Hood was noted to swing more easily to Port than Stbd. Could her final turn in the Denmark Straight have swung the ship harder than others (of similar size) would do. Could that deepen the stbd wake and expose even more hull?

  3. Bismarck was a stunning ship but a massive over-kill for commerce raiding and taking out convoys.

  4. Exactly my point. Using her to sink cargo ships was overkill. But that was her mission.
