  1. Radioactive particles within the body is extremely nasty leading to cancer at the contaminated site. Not to mention that heavy metals are all chemically toxic. Actual irradiation by ionising radiation is much less nasty. Get enough and it will kill you - horribly. However the people of Ramsar in Iran get annual doses of 230 mSv with no ill effects. The maximum occupational dose is just 20mSv. It’s no surprise there’s confusion when more than 11x the “safe” dose is not killing people.
