  1. This is an echo of how hemp was banned. The (extremely useful) fibre got scrapped and replaced by nylon and other synthetic fibres. The excuse was THC had been classed as a controlled drug. In reality there is no profit in it and newer synthetic products could not compete with it

  2. Infection rate? or positive test rate? They are deliberately conflated but are very much not the same. One suggests disease the other indicates exposure. The latter does not automatically lead to the former.
