Much of the world is no better than 1500 years ago when life was brutal and cheap.

Ka-52 does not have a tail rotor. It does have small rudder and elevator but as shown can fly within them.

I used to work in coal fired power stations. They grind the coal into a fine dust so that it burns like a gas flame. PF Dust leaks are treated extremely seriously. We had a boiler flame blown out by a sudden water tube leak. The boiler was purged with air then an oil burner was lug to dry the water. Wet PF ash sets like concrete. The coal dust had not fully dispersed and the explosion blew out the back of the boiler. Nobody hurt because it was a known dangerous condition. But it graphically demonstrated the power of fuel air explosions.

@Khronogi It’s the same strategic stupidity as Russia invading Ukraine added to tactical stupidity of throwing ever more men into the meat grinder of Bakhmut - a town with minimal strategic value. It’s what despots do. Attempted invasion of Taiwan would be equally ridiculous.

Ukraine is poor for the same reasons that every other Soviet satellite was/is poor. The Soviet system was a failure from the outset. However Ukraine threw out it’s corrupt Putin puppet government and Zelenski was starting to deal with the rampant corruption. Putin’s war since 2014 was all about preventing Ukraine from improving itself.

The Finnish explosion crew on You Tube (sorry can’t remember th fir name) exploded a balloon containing a hydrogen/oxygen mix. They are trained to use explosives but were properly shocked by the force of a H2-O2 detonation.

Being Western does not prevent us seeing BS from any side.
5
Ukraine is currently digging Leopard tanks out of incredibly sticky mud. They won’t (can’t) move until the land has drained and it’s still raining.
4
A $500 FPV would do a similar job.
3
The West’s refusal to properly protect Odessa and its grain ports was criminally negligent. I cannot believe that military professionals could not see the importance of those facilities.
3
Killing a noisy lieutenant of Prighozin in a cafe owned by Prighozin just around the corner from Prighozin company head office is classic Putin and FSB.
3
The slow moving flying bombs should be vulnerable to cheap drones sent to explode nearby or crash into the propellor. Considering Ukraine’s innovation, it’s likely we will see such things very soon.
3
The boat being blown up was filmed 2 years ago. Smoke was rising from the area where the ship was (allegedly) hit. The ship later shown unharmed is not the electronic warfare vessel. Ukraine released a film of a drone boat hitting the ship. There is a grainy picture of a very similar ship with a hole in the side. All this points to at least one drone boat impacting the Russians ship. Probably.

Priggy took a sledgehammer to a missile fight.
3
Any tank can’t be moved after a driver error is not fit for purpose.

Artur Rehi thinks Ukraine positioned an S300 battery close to the border. They would have operated it in passive mode until they had an opportunity. These carry four missiles and every aircraft was hit from the front all at once. Air launch missiles could have done it but the odds are that it’s an S300.
2
The opinion polls tell us more about Russian propaganda than anything else. They want to stop the war as long as Russia keeps the (stolen) territory.
2
The 1250 kg glide bombs should be visible on Ukraine radar. However they are cheap compared to Patriot. Not a good cost balance for Ukraine.
2
The break out from Normandy was cocked up by Bradley. He deliberately did the opposite of anything Patton wanted. Patton said Allies should break out fast before Germany organise to stop them. Bradley chose to consolidate and got himself bogged down.
2
Russia is scared and noisy because they have no idea what is coming at them. To date, Ukraine has exposed Russian weaknesses. They know every one will be exploited.
2
A recent video of a failed drone strike on a dragons tooth laying crane clearly showed the teeth are flat bottomed concrete triangles. They are not sunk into the ground in any way. Trenches are another matter but the teeth look like all show with no substance.
2
Maybe it was poor technique and he didn’t intentionally trigger the RPG. It should be obvious that you keep fingers away from the trigger until fully ready to shoot.
2
Everyone calls Crimea a peninsula but in reality it’s an island. The connections to mainland are salt marshes at best.
2
Ukraine is already heavily contaminated with mines and cluster munitions. Mostly placed by Russia but both sides use them. Adding cluster bombs is really not going to make much difference to the post war cleanup.
1
Why are we not offering F-18? Cost maybe. But they are designed for rapid maintenance and built to handle catapult launched and near crash landings. They could operate from civilian roads no worries.
1
British tanks in WW1 carried a roll of logs on the front. They dropped that into a trench and drove over it.
1
Russia can’t even properly populate their defence trenches. So how do they intend to stop Ukraine from continuously degrading them?
1
@Bronco46tube The establish media is all about bias. Everything the say (or choose not to say) is tainted in some way.
1
Ukraine has the expertise to build hardened shelters/hangars on its airfields. Why is this not happening?
1
Bakhmut was more urban warfare than trench warfare. Ukraine has done a fantastic job of attrition on the Russians. They capitalised on Russia’s rigid tactics. Soon enough the tanks will roll southward but there will be other events like Belgorod, if only to keep things stirred up.
1
The Soviet regime and the Putin version will let you progress but get too good and you will be stopped.
1
The Soviet/Russian KIA statistics from Afghanistan are at least 10x lower than reality. Russia/Soviets (same thing) massively massage their numbers. 15000 killed in Afghanistan means 15000 per year. The huge losses are a significant component of why the regime collapsed. People refused to believe the BS.
1
This is standard procedure for Russian attacks. After 28 months, even the most stupid defenders will be ready for it. Thankfully Russia keeps pulling the same trick.
1
The huge problem for Russia is its dysfunctional economy and rampant corruption. The people are badly paid with no incentives to do good work. The technology is old and unreliable. More importantly education is woefully bad and the health care system is no better. TB is endemic as is alcoholism.
1
Nazi Germany was small and constrained. Russia is massive. Ukraine and not even NATO could put down Russia as The Allies did to Germany. Russia is too big, too diffuse and we have no clue what would happen next.
1
The Russian army is 90% committed in Ukraine. Those left over, have struggled to do anything about the Belgorod partisans. They just shelled their own civilians and little else. Who is there to actually stop Prigozhin? Especially, as he’s already taken control of the Rostov military force.
1
The Russian plan is to turn Ukraine into a failed state. Many in ISA cannot see this. Either they believe Russia is not that nasty or they have been kidded into thinking Ukraine is the bad guy.
1
Do bear in mind that hitler was a socialist. He promised cradle to grave protection but in return everything you did was for the parent land. Basically the people were owned by the state. Stalin was just the same but less well equipped. Both were despots selling a socialist paradise - once the latest war is won.
1
Putin is an over-promoted mid level administrator. It’s impossible to know how he will deal with serious set backs in Ukraine.
1
If they don’t have them already, NATO military aircraft are going to need encrypted IFF. It’s no enough to simply say who are you as we know enemies pretend to be friends. And flying with IFF off is suicidal. What happens when you are coming home and your whiz-bang IFF plays up is anyone’s guess.
1
I believe that NATO considers Donbas, Luhansk and the south coast as entirely Ukraine. They pay lip service to Crimea, probably because they don’t want to discuss their failures in 2014. If this is partly correct Ukraine has to go south and at least cut off Crimea from Russian control. If Ukraine concentrate on Donbas & Luhansk they have to work against Russia being able to resupply from just over the border. When that’s eventually done, NATO will back out and Crimea will still be Russian. Ukraine has to first take Crimea.
1
Plantagenet and Tudor monarchs did not have to worry about any type of media or anyone creating a demonstration against their methods. Frankly the people didn’t care. They made enough to live their lives and the little government that did exist just left them alone.
1
The Russian population has been groomed for at least the century to expect a hard life. Their country is always under attack (though it almost never has) and they have to grin & bear it. The people are raised to expect hard work and no prospects for improvement.
1
The Dictionary of Modern Proverbs, attributes it to Arthur G. Lewis Patton said - No b**d ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it, by making the other poor dumb b**d die for his country.
1
It’s simple - hire contractors. They’ll be ex USAF/RAF/Luftwaffe/etc but they won’t be active personnel employed by these airforces.
1
Regolith is moon rock or Mars rock. Doesn’t exist on Earth.
1
Ukraine has the artillery to support its new Dnipro bridgehead. Russia does not have the range to hit back.
1
NK troops don’t do anything for their friends & family. It’s all about looking badass purely for self protection against the officers.
1
West Germany was totally purged of nazis and it seems any will to fight for it’s own security. Many in East Germany still hold fond memories from Soviet times. They can’t be trusted and are probably why it’s taken so long to send effective weapons and especially cut the natural gas umbilical cords.
1
Poland will not get involved without NATO. Such a move would leave EU hanging Poland out to dry and NATO ignoring article 5. Russia cannot break out of any stalemate. Their own defences will simply stop them dead. They don’t know where their own mines are placed. They don’t have mine clearance machines and they certainly don’t have an adequate air force to prepare the territory. Russia can’t use its navy to conduct beach landings, because they simply don’t have the ships or the tanks or the aircraft. In all cases they simply don’t have trained troops to get the job done.
