  1. The insurgents are using the sewers to surrounding Russian forces who are mostly untrained conscripts. Meantimes Russia is bombarding its own towns with Grad missiles. The Hummers Russia said it destroyed we’re obviously faked.

  2. The Russian partisans were only in Belgorod Oblast to make lots of noise, destroy the odd politics station and leave. The very fact (1) they are still there strongly suggests they’ve had a much easier time than expected. (2) Russian defence forces are almost entirely untrained conscripts who were not dug in. Why would they?
