  1. Buried power lines do not cause wildfires and are not damaged by wildfires. Today’s substations are covered and can easily be protected by fireproof walls. There is a cost but it means fire hydrants are always under pressure. It’s also possible to run water mains and fire mains alongside the new electric cables. Additional cost of next to nothing.
