Fantastic video with the statistical issues well explained. Most of the early exoplanet discoveries were hot Jupiters. It makes sense that as these monsters hoover up dust around their planet they move inwards. They would leave nothing habitable in their wake. Our Jupiter has stayed put or maybe was bumped out before it could reach the rocky inner areas. This suggests we are very lucky. Add in our moon again hoovering debris and we get even more lucky. I suspect planets like earth are very rare but with the galaxy being so huge there could still be a few hundred to a few thousand out there.

If US government really has got alien technology, why can’t they build a souped up Apollo space capsule that works. And why has the SLS rocket cost $Billions wile running very late to make just one boring flight around the moon using souped up Apollo technology?

Metric is the best system on these scales. But down on Earth Imperial is more intuitive. At least it is until Chains, Furlongs and such are included.

It’s a tautology. Like a luminous light.

I suspect that if water is present at earth like temperatures then life will form. It will almost always be microbial.
