  1. It’s always the least complicated option. Russian incompetence to stop the attack happening or a Russian false flag event to create a reason for mass mobilisation.

  3. Putin and his FSB will not stop this war. They Might pause for a while but they’ll be off again when it suits them. The only option is the push Putin out of Ukraine, keep him out and prevent him doing the same to any other European country. That’s going to cost a lot of money. But it’s orders of magnitude cheaper than waiting for him to invade NATO territory.

  4. Ukraine has strenuously avoided attacking civilian areas from day one. Russia has deliberately attacked civilian areas from day one. The only change is that Russia is now attacking Muscovites in addition to Ukraine cities and Belgorod Oblast.
