  1. Honda and Toyota are doing their best to ignore the EV market. They (and Toyota) are pushing hydrogen which is nothing more than greenwash. They have seemingly no interest in battery cars.

  2. Merc F1 engines are built by Ilmor. I believe Renault use Judd engines. The big issue is that FIA bolted down the Rhine rules do much that one is basically the same as another. Even worse their refusal to allow in-season upgrades has stifled attempts by slower teams to improve their product. That’s what killed the McClaren-Honda partnership.
