Ukraine will use what best suits their needs.

Biden loved to brag about how much he was spending on Ukraine. We are of course grateful, but 95% of the money stayed within USA. His overstating of reality was an avoidable political mess that has cost Ukraine dearly.
2
Kazakstan has wanted to out an oil pipeline across the Caspian Sea. Putin always vetoes the idea. He wants no competition for his oil and gas to head westwards.
2
Every single weapon ever made has counter-measures. Designers have to think ahead and adapt with combat experience.
2
Ukraine has turned Kherson into a cauldron trap for Russian forces. Ukraine has nothing to gain by directly attacking 20,000 Russians. They can’t resupply themselves, they can’t escape and they have no winter clothing. Eventual surrender is inevitable.
2
Are we surprised that government/security services secrecy is inhibiting our response to Russia? It’s no surprise at all and exactly why national security should be adapted to need rather than doing what it always does.
2
I strongly suspect that a large part of Putin’s reasons for taking the territory in Ukraine is the recently discovered oil and gas under east Ukraine and Crimea. He sees that as direct competition for Russian petroleum. He wants it kept in the ground to keep Russia in control.
2
Russian power grid won’t blow up because it can’t carry any useful power.
2
OPEC is all about the big producers (eg Saudi). The more they can be sidelined the better. By the way removing 1.2 from OPEC actually shifts the balance by 2.4. Numbers at that level can swing the balance of power.
2
The drug cartels have shown its a small step from a shallow freeboard boat to one that runs with just a periscope and snorkel poking out.The next stage will be a boat that carries enough compressed air to run the engine long enough to dive underneath the target ship. 200kg of military explosive under the ship hull will do a huge amount of damage.
2
@CopperVault To be fair, USA had to first get across those annoying lakes.
2
Please can we analyse what Scott Ritter is saying. He is a former United States Marine Corps intelligence officer and UN weapons inspector. He’s no idiot, so what can we make of his opinions?
2
Putin tolerates his pet thugs, because he can’t cope without them. He’s purged everyone else so there’s nobody to open any windows.
2
The more important moral question is that trench warfare is killing thousands on both sides. These tanks will bring a much quicker end to the war.
2
Satellite images show they can’t even care for the environment (oil slicks).
2
Barrage balloons worked against dive bombers. They could not stop flying bombs. The Iran drones are slow could be stopped by radio controlled “model” aircraft towing a rope to tangle the propellor or if they get close enough a hand grenade warhead would take them out.
2
I usually listen to YouTube news on audio. There’s not that much added by a talking heads and fat microphones.
1
USA could fix its own border with the loose change lost in Uncle Sam’s sofa cushions.
1
Native Russian-speaking Ukraine people are so disgusted by Russia and Russians that they voluntarily refuse to speak Russian.
1
Putin planned to control Ukraine like Belarus or invade and annex since before he took political power in 1999. The huge issue with NATO expansion was absolutely no plans to manage Putin’s likely military moves.
1
Russian lost nukes will be at least as many as Americans. Most likely a lot worse. But every one will be totally covered up. There probably no evidence in existence.
1
Works fine on the Apple app.
1
Putin never drives himself anywhere and the backdrops were simply painted film sets. The man in Mariupol was far to comfortable moving about no shakes and no fat neck.
1
It’s amazing that Putin refuses to see that military abuse always fails eventually. Actually - no he is even more of a gangster than the Soviets.
1
The maximum occupational dose of radiation is 20mSv per year. The people of Ramsar in Iran get 260 mSv per year (every year) with no ill effects. Why is the industry dose so minutely small?
1
BBC general news reports pretty much ignore Ukraine. Anything they do say continues to paint Russian propaganda as equivalent to Ukrainian war reports. They indirectly suggest that neither side is reliable. Telegraph shows the reality. Why does BBC refuse to do an equivalent job?
1
Russian military leaders are more keen to fight each other. They have no clue what’s going on at the front lines.
1
Tosh supply kitchen equipment.
1
Putin is entirely lucid. He gambled that The West would dither. He was right. We are dithering. He is certainly not losing. Not yet and possibly not ever.
1
Putin mentioned the war. Did he get away with it?
1
Long range Storm Shadow has a smaller warhead. This is a significant compromise that damages its military value.
1
That’s not entirely correct. If Russia sends oil via tanker they can ask any price they like. It’s entirely outside the world market. Currently China and India are paying $30 below the market rates.
1
Russian Orthodox Church survived the Soviet era. They back Putin today because the line of least resistance is how they survive. The Church of England has gone woke but is that really any different?
1
It’s only the most insular right wing who claim to want US to stop funding Ukraine. They are right the war should and could have been avoided. Obama set the trail of events in motion but Trump ignored the whole thing.
1
UN has always been useless but why is Biden staying quiet? For all his faults (e.g. can’t keep a team together) there’s no way Trump would stand by and do nothing.
1
The dam and the nuke power plant have no military significance. It’s all about the bully-boy tactics of a despot.
1
Russia wants to make Ukraine suffer over this winter. Many city blocks have district heating so it’s relatively easy to cut off heat to buildings.
1
“The West” putting defenders around Ukraine would almost certainly take the line of least resistance. They’d separate the occupied areas of Ukraine. We need to call this out.
1
October revolution won’t happen or anything in any other month. Putin has not (yet) killed enough working age people.
1
Mike Johnson is suggesting Ukraine should be supported to win. Is GOP about to swing behind Ukraine? It could be an election winner.
1
Why doesn’t The Big Guy close the USA embassy in Russia? Oh hang on - that would need a decision and his puppet master never could do decisions.
1
It works for me.
1
Ukraine was right to complain about Russia stopping that ship. They got their voice heard while international media were wondering what had happened. Russia is not running a blockade, because they are frightened of Ukraine drone boats. It’s far better to hit the port infrastructure with ballistic missiles.
1
Maybe Putin has not intervened in Armenia, because the useful troops are all in Ukraine.
1
I can live with adverts. Just keep them short.
1
Perun has a fantastic YouTube channel. Quite who he is in “real life” is shrouded in mystery.
1
EU is an economic grouping that’s trying to become a superstate. USA wrote a near cast iron constitution and bill of rights but took 200 years to become a country. EU has not even done the first legal steps. NATO is supposed to be a defensive organisation. However, NATO is waiting for an attack with close to zero preparation. We are heading for extreme failure. Hopefully Macron will wake things up. Sunak is useless. Sholz is batting for Putin.
1
Bakhmut has no military significance. Additionally, there is no way for Russia to move beyond it. The land to its west is flat and open with many lakes. It will become a Ukraine shooting gallery; even more destructive that Russia’s failed river crossings.
1
Russia has dug extensive trench defences in Kherson to oppose a threat coming in from the North. Especially crossing Dnipro at the Zaporizhzhia Dneprostroi Dam. However Ukraine is likely to attack via Kingburn Spit. This would cut off these defences from Crimea. At least they now know how to more efficiently escape when the time comes.
1
Weaponised New Cle Are (please get it right) power plants are a nuclear attack just as much as a military weapon. Take out every missile launch truck and maybe every missile launch submarine. We can be sure “The West” knows where they all are.
