  1. Russia has huge stocks of “mothballed” military vehicles. But everything that can be moved has already been taken into use. Maybe the first 100,000 conscripts will be used to get the ancient scrap iron started. Good luck with that.

  2. East Ukraine irregular fighters were effectively the Russian army trying to take over Ukraine on the cheap. The Ukraine government kept it under some control for 8 years until Putin stepped in with his regular army. The whole sorry story is Russia throwing it’s weight around.

  4. Denis Davidov (Ukraine commentator) thinks it’s unlikely that enough Russians will protest against Putin’s latest edict. They are just too brainwashed by the propaganda.

  5. October revolution won’t happen or anything in any other month. Putin has not (yet) killed enough working age people.

  6. Protesters grabbed off the streets by armed police will get sent to prison and they’ll then be sent to war as conscripts. Protesting is an express route to front line cannon fodder.
