  4. Bakhmut has no military significance. Additionally, there is no way for Russia to move beyond it. The land to its west is flat and open with many lakes. It will become a Ukraine shooting gallery; even more destructive that Russia’s failed river crossings.

  5. Russia has dug extensive trench defences in Kherson to oppose a threat coming in from the North. Especially crossing Dnipro at the Zaporizhzhia Dneprostroi Dam. However Ukraine is likely to attack via Kingburn Spit. This would cut off these defences from Crimea. At least they now know how to more efficiently escape when the time comes.
