  1. Helmut Kohl was criticised for his extremely rapid reunification of Germany. I think the behaviours of Hungary and Romania indicate why this was done. East German politician Angela Merkel was a side effect of that move. However, Germany had plenty of time to rebalance before Russia could reset itself under a new dictatorship.

  2. Russian oil and gas is still being pumped under Ukraine. It’s amazing that nothing bad has befallen those pipelines. After all the Nordstream was blown from the inside (only possible from the Russia end). Why not the others?

  3. 13 MEPs voted against the EU sanctions against Assad. Hopefully they are all being checked out.
