@effexon The Soviets are far enough away for propaganda to eulogise over the good old days. Anyone to the right of the bell curve has already left. The remaining sheeple are easier to con.

Perun explained in great detail how countries can keep going during wartimes. Russia is one of the most capable at boxing itself in and taking external pressure.

The motor industry is basically ignoring the reality of electric vehicles. Component prices especially batteries are falling yet that are making no serious preparations. The legacy manufacturers are headed for a huge crash. Unfortunately the released labour force will be too late for any Chinese “adventurers”.

@CMY187 Russian peasants absolutely hated Stalin with his purges and famines. They would have happily fought with Hitler so why did they stay with the devil they knew? The Nazis were too racist (in the correct sense) and stupid to see resource on their own borders. Their empire failed as a result.
