The point about Russian propaganda reinforcing the cracks between our various political groups is very interesting. The Greens were especially anti nuclear. Not just “ban the bomb” but the power plants as well. KGB funded the German and EU Greens leading to Germany closing its nuclear power plants. The spin-off was excessive regulatory control making power plants too expensive to build. As has especially happened in UK.

Russian control of Europe and the world via energy supplies was prodded by the huge oil and gas resources found under East Ukraine (the very areas taken by Putin). Putin doesn’t want that oil but more importantly he doesn’t want the competition. He’s prevented states like Kazakhstan building oil pipelines. It seems his Ukraine war is about stopping it’s oil before it gets started.
