  1. Russia stopped training pilots years ago. Before the war, the existing personnel were given too few flight hours to remain capable of flying at all. Actually achieving any military objective was beyond most of them. Those with any skills are almost certainly gone.

  2. The Soviet Union collapsed in 1991. But the KGB who controlled the whole thing have never gone away. Their name changed to FSB but they are the same animal.
