Ferrying the boats over is a band aid plaster solution that simply encourages more to try. This is a classic example of where being firm and steadfast to stop and return the people really is the kindest thing to do.

Vit D should be 5000 IU per day. Well above the paltry amounts the medics recommend but it works. It’s hugely important for immune system health.

  19. Any separation vote now would almost certainly fail just like the last one. Though Scotland had its say in 2014 and not even a decade later looks like unseemly haste. Also bear in mind that 42% of Scots voted for Brexit - people who are most likely unionists. The same assumption can’t be assumed for those who voted Remain. Many will have changed their minds and the rest can’t be assumed to be rabid serparatists.

  25. Extinction Rebellion and the other red politicians painted green say that CO2 is killing the planet. The simple solution is nuclear power. It’s the safest power source we have and it’s zero CO2. The new 4th generation reactors use molten salt fuel and coolant. They can’t melt down, they can’t overheat and produce a tiny fraction of the Easter made by older plants. The British Moltex is cheaper than coal and one is being built in Canada. The delays are not technical. They are entirely regulatory. Regulators working at a glacial pace do not improve safety they simply waste money. Why can’t the nuclear regulatory bodies be given a rocket to make things happen?

  35. Boris could also do as John Major did and call a no confidence vote against his own government. If the hard Remainers vote him down he will win the election without them simply because he will have shown the guts to confront them. If he wins they'll (arguably) have to put up and shut up. But as Normal Tebbit says in his Telegraph article today - South West Hertfordshire Conservative Association passed a motion of no confidence in their MP, Justice Secretary David Gauke. The motion fell by 123 votes to 61 - less than 200 votes were cast. What chance do we have, when the grass roots have given up to that extent?

But it should be 5000 IU per day. It’s a huge component of the immune system. Makes the immune more accurate at killing invaders and less prone to hyper reaction when stimulated.

  48. I have worked in a GP surgery. They have trainee GPs and trainee practice nurses yet still struggle to recruit staff. Free at point of delivery means no respect from users either for the Drs or themselves. The attitude is, “I’m broken - You are required to fix me,” The job is near impossible so nobody wants to do it.

The Chinese wet markets caused SARS-1 yet the Chinese Communist Party did nothing. Even worse they covered it up.

  53.  @joemitchell1287  There IS NO requirement for a hard border. Even at the height of "The Troubles" (much of that before UK joined the EU there was no hard border. UK and Ireland already have different VAT rates, different road fuel duty, different booze duty and different income tax rates. Adding an import tariff to that would be no problem. The EU knows that but it suited them to stir up trouble an UK was too naive to see it coming.

  55. Covid-19 is a bat virus but it has been edited. I suggest LBC gets Ivor Cummins to ask the questions. He properly knows what he is talking about and he does ask the right questions. Theses two are just looking for reasons to pretend it’s not been gene edited. Neither bothers to notice that bats and pangolins are hibernating at the time this virus is supposed to have started in humans.
