  1. CTs will have already had numerous factory crash tests. Failing official regulatory tests would be embarrassing but fixing late stage design faults is incredibly expensive.

  2. Any manufacturer will have already done it’s crash testing probably to a higher level than any regulatory standard. They cannot risk failing official tests as the costs to fix any issues would be horrendous.

  3. Stainless steel sounds like a good material for cars. But it’s not especially strong and it causes nasty electrolytic corrosion if any other metal comes into contact. Aluminium castings cannot be simply bolted to stainless or any other steel. Aluminium would have been a much better choice. 3mm ally is incredibly strong.
