  1. You should watch the BMW R1150 GS doing an IoM lap. It’s around 12 years old but amazing how he goes do fast on a heavy not very powerful bike.

  2. Long ton (imperial ton) is 2240 pounds. Metric ton is 2,200 pounds. Short ton is 2000 pounds.

  3. Diesel fuel in USA has a much lower Cetane rating than fuel in Europe. Low cetane leads to less power and more smoke so USA uses bigger engines that don't need to be worked so hard.
