Sandy is obviously not starting out in the industry but I doubt he’s even close to the end of his career. He will be there adding value until he can’t get out of his house.

Spammers are out again.

Tesla stock always drops after investors day. The big funds always find an excuse to lose money.

Sandy tells it how it is. He’s not had to sit through “shrimp and BS”, of course he’s enthusiastic.

The workers are a major part of the problem. They don’t want to see any change to how they work. VW is a perfect example.

During the 1980s my boss said - when China gets its act together, we are screwed. His opinion was evidenced by what Japan achieved in 1970s.

I’m semi retired and quite happy with a low cost Fiat. However when Stellantis go broke the parts makers will go the same way. That will leave me without transport long before 2030.

The giant car makers have an extremely narrow repertoire. Every cad from every manufacturer is basically another rewrite of the same old story. They are simply incapable of thinking out of their very small box.

All cars should be with repairs built into the design. Damaged cars should be repaired as that’s less energy intensive than replacing. However parts and processes to get the job done have to be reasonably priced. Otherwise cars with little more than dented fenders get scrapped.

Incentives for “truth” lead to what Leftists (currently) call “your truth”. Before you know it, complete lies become untouchable. We have that now with CO2 with “safe spaces” a close second.

Ford fitted heated windscreens. A fabulous idea that nobody else bothered with. Hopefully CyberTruck does the same. It will be needed with that amount of glass.

I can’t afford a new car for even nearly new. My concern is obtaining parts for low cost but perfectly good existing cars. What happens when the parts makers follow the legacy badge companies?

Check out Patrick Moore originator of GreenPeace. He saved the whales and he got atmospheric testing of nukes banned. He is using genuine science to expose the climate crisis lies. We must stop wrecking the planet. But CO2 is not the bad guy. All the BS around carbon trading and carbon taxes must be exposed. I would love if one of you would talk to him.

The big boys will get bailed out in USA and Germany.

It’s been obvious for years that Tesla will get crimped. Biden and the Democrats are paid by the unions. Trump made a huge deal of restoring America. Neither can allow the auto industry to collapse. However none of this corruption matters. Tesla is so far ahead that nobody is close to catching them. Even better, their cars simply don’t depreciate. Why would you buy a car that’s going to lose 30% to 70% over three years when you can have one that loses almost nothing?

The engineers who built ships and aeroplanes in the days of slide rules knew what looked right. They started with a professional estimate then used the slide rules to check. These people could think in 3D. Their basic concepts were on target from day one. Today we use CAD to tell us. If the foundation is wrong we get horrors like the Nissan Leaf.

There is no need for cities to have any complex regulations. ALL drivers (human or otherwise) should keep to the rules of the road. That’s it. Job done.

The new lithium refinery will almost certainly be the first of four (same pattern as the Berlin car plant).

I used to be a technical author. Snowflakes can't handle it. The culture is that criticism of anyone's work is part of the job. People are not personally rude but they are often very direct about the "product". We get too close our subject and don't see mistakes that are obvious to others. Peer-group editing is an extremely good way to get the job done well. Many software developers have target fixation and hate being called out for sub-optimal designs. I found that documenting software needs a careful approach. Right first time IS their problem to get sorted out. Do it right and they'll be asking you to help with peer reviews.

Mars will be a horrible posting. The dust is highly abrasive as toxic to humans. Water is a non- renewable resource and of course there’s only enough “air” to create dust storms. Finally a year or two on Mars will cripple your bones and muscles. Return to Earth after 2 years will leave you permanently damaged.
