  2. Tadpole trikes are so inherently stable the 2nd rear wheel is not needed. Power control into the front wheels allows them to help steering and braking. If you really can’t avoid gearing then go for epicyclic. They are compact and very efficient. I’m a fan of the Citroen hydro-pneumatic suspension. Compressed gas provides the springs. Hydraulics provide ride levelling with rapid response.

  3. What about the Hossack and Naro cars? Tandem seats 1/2 the road width with suspension that makes it lean like a bike. Bike steering upsets the average driver but computer controls allow a steering wheel to feel like a car while operating like a bike.

  4. If these can provide braking as effectively as normal brakes you could delete the hydraulics and friction systems.
