  1. Apple MacOS is based on Linux. Apple iOS did not evolve directly Psion or Symbian but A LOT of their engineers went to work for Apple. Tesla OS is based on Linux. Apple lost the legal case against Google on intellectual property legal case for the Android user interface. But Apple is still way ahead in usability.

  2. I drive a Merc Vito van with robot clutch & gears auto transmission. It’s horrible incredibly slow from engine start even slower to get moving from park and the delay on putting the pedal down is 1 to 2 seconds. It’s all down to badly written code that goes back to zero every time you go into park and horrendous latency in the system.

  3. EV brakes are going to be a big problem. They are over-specified, because regenerative braking does most of the work. Cast iron discs will corrode. Pads and caliper sliders will seize from lack of use. We will need to return to drum brakes (sealed from environment) then add stainless parts that don’t corrode.
