  1. Some states allow passing on either side. Personally I think its the best way to deal with lane hogs that refuse to move over.

  2. In UK, double lane road junctions have a bollard at the end of the centreline. That makes sure people turning right (left in USA as at 6:15) keep to the correct side of the road. That lack of clear demarcation makes me surprised there not a lot more head-on crashes near these junctions.
