  2. The Great Man Made River Project was built to extract prehistoric water from under the desert. Once it’s gone - it’s gone. Unfortunately many of the boreholes simply hit brine. There is probably very little usable water under the desert.

  3. It's likely the squid thought the sonar was a whale. After all, they make similar noise.
