  1. It’s prehistoric water. Once it’s all extracted it’s gone. And it won’t coming back.

  2. The Great Man Made River Project was built to extract prehistoric water from under the desert. Once it’s gone - it’s gone. Unfortunately many of the boreholes simply hit brine. There is probably very little usable water under the desert.
