  1. It’s highly likely that Western engineers knew the Yak-9 was a hoax. The DeHavilland Mosquito was fitted with a 57mm six pounder gun with Mohlins auto loader. It filled the bomb bay and while very accurate (and destructive to U-Boats), it was not a military success. There is no way such a mister could be fitted to a single engine jet aircraft.
