  1. The huge turning circle is a direct factor of the speed. This (lack of) turning ability equally applies to anti-aircraft missiles so unless they can predict its trajectory the missile still can’t hit it.

  2. The Molten Salt reactor was invented for this job. It was quickly realised the necessary shielding is too heavy but the ultra simplicity of molten salt made the engineering easy to deliver. The molten salt reactor has been resurrected by the likes of Moltex and Elysium who have fast spectrum reactors that burn irradiated “waste” neckwear fuel. 99% of the energy is extracted against just 4% in before the fuel was taken into storage. That cuts the existing 30,000 years half-life to just 30 years.

  8. Twin front gear is no problem for steering they just have to be linked. That can be pure hydraulic. Folding ing wings have been used by navy aircraft for facades. It’s not new technology.
