  2. The SPAD aircraft was also French developed by Société Pour L'Aviation et ses Dérivés. Used by France, USA and U.K. before the Sopwith Camel came along. Engine was a Hispano Suiza water cooled straight 8.

  3. This gun was a problem in the Falklands. British rounds had to hit something vital to stop the guy. Argentines fired bigger lower velocity rounds with far more stopping power and accordingly more effective.

  4. The US type 14 Torpedo of WW2 was a far more miserable story of failure and self serving cover-ups. Neither should have happened.

  6. MG-42 was an extremely fast firing weapon that needed considerable logistical support. One of those is enough to distract any pilot. As long as the support team can keep filling the ammo boxes.
