Comments by "David Elliott" (@davidelliott5843) on "Carbon Fiber Inside the Engine - How CF rods and pistons change engines and why you can't have them" video.
Two stroke engines have one-piece connecting rods with roller bearings. The crankshaft is built up around the rods. That does beg the question could CF be used for stroker con-rods? Could the strands be wound around the directions of force on the rods - figure of 8 maybe? Before anyone moans about pollution - the Rotax ETECH DI two-stroke (used in snowmobiles and outboard motors) is powerful AND extremely clean.

Carbon fibre has fantastic tensile strength. However con-rods undergo huge G forces in both compression and tension. CF is unlikely to cope.
