  1. Many airports add to get-there-itis. Once a flight is cancelled even due to their own incompetence (eg inefficient ice/snow clearing) they do nothing to slot the flight back into the program. They just get ignored. Pilots don’t want this so get tempted to fly anyway.

  2. Never assume everything necessary has been done before your job gets started. A few pre start checks often show up gaps or issues.
