  1. My understanding is that the aircrew was trained for this type of incident on a computer and not in a flight simulator. Foreign airlines have less stringent training requirements. See Blancolirio for an airline pilots reality based point of view on this.

  2. The US has a higher level of training requirements. You can’t learn to fly an aircraft strictly on the time on your laptop.
