  1. Always wondered about how these cities would fare. Even as a child, and never a sports enthusiast, I could never comprehend what all the new infrastructure would be used for after the Games were done. Turns out nothing! If I ever become a city planner and have the opportunity to voice approval or not, I think an emphatic thumbs down would be appropriate. Laf, maybe Saudi Arabia or the Emirates could make a bid to have both the Summer and Winter Olympics, in order to further diversify their economies towards more global tourism. I mean, don’t they already have ski hills in the desert??
