Oh yeah! Great read! Robert Heinlein…thnx for bringing this up, I need to read it again. Maybe a Kindle Unlimited binge of Heinlein. And Asimov. And Clarke. And….

Derek’s really turned into a giant in this space. Good work, man, I love your work.

Wasn’t that due to the whip antennas at the midpoint of the satellite cylinder? Or was that Explorer I?

Funny, I don’t think I’d drive my Escape on the road conditions portrayed for the Model T.

Not a good ‘funny.’

This was a good share, thank you, Derek.

If the lower part of the rod is heavier thn the upper, wouldn’t the length of the rod provide stability? Maybe fins at Mach10 wouldn’t survive the heat, but for a low speed test, I’d prolly use fins. Pretty fun experiment tho, I’d cut him a little slack. Edit, oh - 12:28. Maybe I cut him TOO much slack. Sorry, I’ll shut up.

Derek’s first vid and the subsequent critiques are what convinced me to subscribe to Veratasium and devour all his past presentations. Derek’s integrity, accuracy, and open-mindedness won me over as a trustworthy and authoritative souce, which are extremely important to me, and no doubt, others. Nice work. As usual. My only complaint? Not enough time for him and his team to create more content. You’ve done so much to expand my brain and comprehension. I’m pretty fussy regarding my subscriptions, and Veratasium has been a true gem for me. Thank you, Derek.

Also, thank you for those who comment. I, for one, have learned much from the professional feedback and I make an effort to read them all. It’s truly phenomenal to be able to learns other’s perspectives and be able to discard the disrespectful and negative.

Phenomenal. Finding this gem of a channel has been an absolute joy.

I wonder….is there any relationship between synchronization of metronomes and orbital resonances?

No. Your reputation is such that we (I) believe you performed your experiences multiple times. In my mind, trustworthiness is equivalent to reputation. With sufficient number of agreements pro, one f-up bad reflects on your reputation. But I don't see this any different that what scintillated into textbooks. Rock on, Derek. I trust you.
