Did it actually loiter for 18hrs, or did it take that long to reach altitude? Seriously, tho, I’m confused about the Davis gun. I don’t understand what extra damage the Davis would do as compared to a Lewis; wouldn’t it just make a somewhat larger hole in the bag? Or was the intended target the gondola, or were the 37mm shells incendiary (I didn’t think they’d been invented yet, but I’m just getting into WWI and the origin aircraft periods so I guess I don’t know)?

What is the aircraft at 1:20, before the Fox and Hind?

When I think ‘France,’ I think language of love, wine, mistresses….and my brain just can’t take the disconnect of these absolutely f-ugly aircraft. How was a pilot supposed to impress the ladies showing them these monstrosities?

See, I just don’t understand French aero design between the wars. How do you go from the inspiration at 0:28 to the bread & butter of Ed’s channel? However, Arsenal’s successor corp, Nord, must have seen Esmeralda in the Nord 1500 interceptor.

That is a tough one. I’m reverting to my first love, the Phantom.

That’s some serious front landing gear apparatus.

I think the SEPECAT Jaguar and English Lightning had AAMs on top of the wings, but I’ve not seen any on top of a fuselage before. I can’t quite recall, but I’m thinking a Soviet era aircraft also did an above-wing or -fuselage mount….Su-25???
