If you see someone making bad choices in life your job as christian isn't saying: "go ahead, be happy", but correcting them. I would say Christianity is much more Darwinist than most people think, with Darwinism being about maintaining life in this world and Christianity being about leading everyone to heaven, being saints, living righteously.

If the oldest book that talk about how the world begun, then it's believable since who wrote that is much closer from that fact that any other writer ever did. It's like if you want to know what was like to live in the start of the 19th century, better to read from someone that lived at the time than ask about it to a young historian
