  1. It wasn't really like that. There was definitely a more serious/somber vibe and more of a spotlight on family members of students who were serving, but no rallies or anything. Honestly the most nationalistic it ever got for me in school was 2nd grade (1997-98) where our teacher had us sing a different patriotic song from a Golden Age musical each day. And in 1st grade when we were required to do the Macarena every morning.
