I had to take a law class for film school and was assigned to re-litigate the Royal Pains lawsuit between Hayden Christensen and the USA network, which used the 9th circuit doctrine of implied-in-fact contract as a persuasive precedent and applied it to the 2nd circuit, thus making it binding in that jurisdiction.
