  1.  @KhAnubis  It goes both ways. My Israeli passport prohibits me from at least a dozen countries inc. Malaysia (note: it also opens left-to-right like Iran). But I get visa-free access to Russia, which is cool. The Israeli passport actually makes it easier to get into Jordan and the Sinai than the US passport does. And people with only Israeli passports have a harder time getting into the US...because the government really doesn't want people to move away. The real prize over here though is an EU passport.

  3. I'm afraid to tell you that the Uto-Aztecan family also extends to Los Angeles and the Californian Channel Islands. Interestingly, California also has several isolates as well as languages whose closest relatives are very far away, for example two Algic languages from Canada. I've always enjoyed knowing that people have always been coming to California from all over, from the Yurok and Wiyot people to my grandparents.

  4.  @sirloinofice  Israel was a developing country until 2010, and as an information-based economy, there has always been a tremendous fear of "brain drain." Europe is a different story– just visit Berlin– but Israeli culture projects a laughably rosy, almost gold rush-esque image of the US that might drive people there in large numbers.
