No reliance on the grid for electricity (you can use solar panels for that), water (use rainwater or a water well). Medicine sure you kinda need that Pension? There is will be no pension/retirement for our generation

Perhaps the drivers weren't installed in the Live Session. managing background processes? like systemd? or rather something akin to Windows Task Manager? We have a bunc of those: on the commandline top/htop/btop, or all distros come with one GUI based out of the gate...

  55.  @MostachoIrregular  have you seen how cheap buying a domain and webspace is nowadays? EVERYONE can have their own space on the internet and it would cost only a few bucks. Also you don't have to go full blown VPS. You could also, if you want to own your space truly, get a raspberry pi as a webhost and use dyndns to route a domain to it.

But yeah its a paradigm shift for sure and it takes time to grasp a new one, same with workflows. Also, why not getting out of the comfort zone? Eventually Windows will be total shit (like more shit than today or with copilot), you don't want that done onto you, right?
