It seams this war is only about Russian elites trying to pull the rest of the world into where they feel the most comfortable - that is 19th century. With a rigid class division and masses fighting one another while they are counting profits.

@johnayacko8120 Exactly. The elites behind decisions know, that they have power of sending teenage conscripts to a bloodbath. Without consequences. And maybe you are right, maybe they have much more skilled fighters, that could handle Ukraine within a week, but they choose not to, in case they will have to fight their own people, angry for their kids dying. They also engage in scourged earth tactics. They know what the're doing and that is the biggest problem. This are 19 century methods. Can be effective in it's way but no modern state would afford to use them. It is like using public torture to get a confession in a witch trail.

@johnayacko8120 President? One guy is behind it? and all the nation is strong supporters to Putin, is that what you mean. Nato is open to new members, even Russia expressed intentions to join once or twice. President represents nations intentions, this is how democracy works. Zalenskyy was elected and previous president did not changed any laws to keep the power. President have still full support of their people, even if as you said, he caused the war. Putin works on this project for more than 20 yrs now, He changed laws to keep power dealt with smaller nations, fkd up Belarus and he would use any kind of justification to start the wars of conquest once again. As to USA, you are right, they are fighting fire with way too much fire, and they use just as bad justifications, but when they are done, they are gone.

@johnayacko8120 I think Russians are happy about what happens. Even those abroad will never admit it, but I think they are just waiting for Putin to cleanse the territory and to implement harsh regime, making it extremely difficult for Ukrainians to live. Old Roman saying "when you see blood on the streets, buy properties". WW3 will not benefit anyone. No one will touch Putin, Russians love him and the US needs an effective barbarian behind the fence to keep everyone inline. There will be quiet for a while and than another region will suddenly discover it's Russian roots. As to the western method, they don't care, they just want to make business, and if it's not possible or not beneficial enough... sometimes little persuasion can do miracles, but they don't care about your sentiments, I think.
