when I was a kid, we had a strict dress code, with blue blouse and a shield at the forearm. Everyone looked like a cop. No makeup for 3 grades. forget about "expressing yourself" until you are at uni, and even than it was not well accepted. @FinderOfTruth I did not suggest anything. I think my school sucked, and teachers was worthless, but it sucked for everyone else as well to the same degree. Religious symbols makes you think you are a part of a chosen nation, nation with higher ethical standards and privileges, rest is a filth you are forced to deal with in your mortal shell that will stay behind when you move to live with imaginary friends after you die. Call me unreasonable, but even if I did not liked being another brick in the wall, in retrospective it really make sense. As to what the kid beliefs? was it that one day she woke up and decided to put a bag over her head... or was it introduced to her by reading books and behavioral reproduction...not to say that she was educated
