I wonder if Turkey would peacefully accept if some other country took over large chunk of it and occupied it for another 60 years. If yes, I can imagine we could have meaningful mediation.

@bekiry5105 If you don't even realize that what you saying is a threat, it is worse than I thought. Until today in Cyprus are excavated wells where families that was 'taken care of' ended up their lives. This is not a relation any country wants if Turkey always has to have a monopoly on violence and domination. You say 600 years of pace, Romans and UK claimed the same, Germans almost got there, but this is only you guys who see it that way. Take your peace with you and just leave, please. Take your time and come back after you rethink all of that.

@tracycove257 I do not think they are being serious about that. It seams to me like a political sarcasm. Don't take me wrong, by the numbers of Turks in Germany, Greece and other countries Turkey is already in the EU. These are good people. But government is made like of post Nazi relics, this is what holds them back.

You don't have to be friends with everyone. A good stranger is better than a bad friend. Turkey... introduced itself, not in a good way and doesn't care to make it up.

@alikatsu7686 Probably if they stop occupying Cyprus, they would have even less. It's better that they stay, so they are just a little less nervous.

@TheCensoredGoat I understand how you see it, but as outsider, even if I try to look at it from your side, Turkey claimed that 74 was a humanitarian action. Heavy weapon invasion, entire villages slaughtered and so on. Let's forget about those people and go back to the living. There is no humanitarian action that doesn't end. I even assume that with proper education and influx of mainland Turks, indigenous Muslim Cypriots are in insignificant minority. Probably to you it may seam that Turkey is the only one who support your interests. Maybe you're right. Majority of governments see it thou as an occupied territory. I believe that once Cyprus kicked out one member of the imperialist club, UK winked, Turkey winked and kicked the little guy in the balls. The rest is a history you learn in schools for the future.

@canozzkan Yes I do. In the history books they are freedom fighters as well as terrorist, followed by a statement "Cyprus is and will remain Tùrkish". This is the way they should be remembered. There is no doubt, extremism is nothing good. If that piece of history book justifies for you loss of sovereignty than you didn't gain much in the past half century and I have no more questions. Maybe this is the only way we can coexist on a state level. On a personal level, there is at least 4 Muslim families just on my street in Paphos, very nice people. Churches and Mosques operate without problems.

@Matro25 Yea, that's a bit oversimplified. Sometimes you are born with a feature witch makes other people to believe you are a member of a certain group and they give you no choice but to be it, sometimes you join a group because you believe in idea and sometimes you join a group because this seams like the only way to you can get through college. For sure no one would join voluntarily a group with a banner saying 'I'm an idiot and have no purpose' unless there is an insensitive.

I understand when Trumps not using mask when giving a speech. In this footage he goes like Boris Johnson, shaking hands left and right, and not only him but many of his staff. Cool, everyone tested, but your teenage kids watch him and do the same. You can't be serious with them. As to meds, Trump did said he took some pills, that he believes protect you from covid but no one else confirmed their effectiveness.
