Cyprus is worried that EU could ignore Cyprus case in exchange for Russia to ignore Belarus case.

Turkish Cypriots in the Occupied zone fully submit to Turkish rule and claim, that they are not represented by the government of Cyprus, since it is biased against them. Turkey claims right to the entire country, so they don't think they need to adhere to international regulations. Belarus can end up in a similar mess. No matter what sentiments you have, business is business, Putin may find any group of pro Russia activists and there you have someone who's interests has to be protected by all means. Little green men just wait for instructions. Just please, EU, do not sell Cyprus for Belarus.

European union is an organisation established and based in Europe. Kentucky fried chicken is supposed to do business only in Kentucky? It could without problem take in anyone, if they meet requirements.

@hsbicer4339 Some principals are not worth following and if they get abandoned, some cannot live without them. That's mainly why Brexit. EU is no longer a club of superiors.

john k Honestly, I wish Turkey joined EU, as a first large majority Muslim state, but there is no place for violence in the EU, especially towards other members.

@hendrikdependrik1891 Just like Belarus, Cyprus is a small country of people no one cares about and without important natural resources. Official allies allowed it to be invaded and divided just to keep balance between big boys. Same can happen to Belarus.

@vkar99 How Cypriot really it is? what is going on now is just Turkey and Greece bargaining for the price of it. Whoever will start to drill will have to cover the cost of the other part's staying out of the way. Cyprus is not really an actor for them.
