  1. VAG is cost cutting, simple as that. When you put everything in a touch screen you can save a couple cents in R&D and production by not having to design and produce individual buttons. Consumers can't really do much about car trends besides drive trains and body styles, for "small" things like ergonomics consumers won't switch brands.

  2. Could be the dashboard plastics since VAG is cost cutting with these new Golf based cars or could be the camera mount.

  3. Although I dislike touch screen controls, I'd say they're still a better solution than those ridiculous sliders in the new Golf and Leon.
