I respect your thoughts and see where you're coming from but I don't think it's possible to be a good person and be part of the police (in the system being discussed, not police universally), we know from countless instances by now that whenever someone reports a fellow officer for misconduct, they get ostracized and/or fired, commonly completely shut out from the professio. So most good cops just stay quiet to save their skin, at which point they aren't good people anymore because at the end of the day it's just a job, not like you're forced into the army and are just following commands or something.

@addison1977 Nurses get physically and verbally abused by their patients all the time yet we don't give them a pass (and they don't do it either) for being violent in retaliation, nor do we expect them to be paranoid and trigger happy. If you can't take the heat to the point where you become irrational, it is not the job you should be working.

@StunBuns If incidences of police brutality were dealt with appropriately, then their still unacceptable but low number would be recognized, however they are not which shows that the whole police/justice system is garbage. We hear what about the good cops but all the good cops get fired and their careers destroyed if they show any ounce of being good cops.
