  1. It depends on person to person but personally I'd find it horrifying that parents would have more control on what their child will turn out like, making them a tool for themselves. Children are people, not your property so the kind of parents that force their kids to do this and that and study that and this so they're happy will just design their kids to be exactly the way they want. Absolutely no individuality what so ever.

  2. Eliminating hereditary conditions where the child would suffer physically? Sure. Eliminating hereditary conditions where the child would suffer just because society mistreats them? We should fix society first. Also designer babies sound a lot like parents having even more control over the child's future.
