If they wanted to save shifter space they could've just pulled a Chrysler/Jaguar/Ford and done a dial...

Ah, good old 80's GM. The host talks about 10 different cars but all you see is one car.
5
Inflation is a thing though
4
What else is jeep as a brand supposed to make though, besides the wrangler all they make is boring crossovers and have for decades
2
I don't understand regulations of the time, you need low speed bumpers for "safety" but you can have jousting lance at the front of a buick
2
Where do you put stuff tho if kids are in the trunk facing back
2
Not really most of these are sedans
1
It's not a rebadged fiat, it's a rebadged Opel.
1
Smaller than the renegade actually, based on the subcompact platform that underpins Peugeot, Opel, Citroen and DS models in Europe

The non-adjustable steering wheel in this size of car was a surprise to me. Perhaps a GM thing?
1
@awesomeferret 4:35 I mean yeah, the wheel tilts on a swivel but the column doesn't move up or down nor in and out at all. So technically it's adjustable i guess but not to any useful extent like you'd expect from a car of this size at the time.
1
@awesomeferret Almost every European/Japanese/Korean car above the A-segment for the past 20-30 years has an adjustable column what are you on about? This is a car from 23 years ago it should've been standard on let alone a larger sedan. Either the lack of adjustment is an American market thing or you're the one who's not aware of what's standard and are unnecessarily taking a condescending tone to a motorweek comment section.
1
@jermainec2462 Nah, this'll be based on a PSA platform used on European market electric/gasoline subcompacts/crossovers.
1
There is no integra "heritage" it was always a slightly different Civic, back when the Civic was often a 3-door the Integra was a 3-door.
1
Jesus how many sedans does each brand need
1
Was it not confusing when all chrysler brands had the same badge?
1
2:42 That's really weird. They made a big amber section for the headlight cluster yet that's not the indicator, instead the indicator is a small light on the bumper. Why? What's the amber section in the headlight for, then?
1
Why do you need them? I think I've seen them on BMW's across the pond.
1
Oh, I guess they're kind of an alternative to daytime running lights?
1
@Ashquacks The car was called Optima in Europe too, where they sold the wagon version in addition to the sedan.
1
I never understood how this bodyshape was ever popular stateside... Long flowing hood, raked windshield and then CLONK upright rear glass and tiny trunklid. So misshapen.
